We know that white people have an outsized influence in both the electoral and political spheres, which is why Showing up for Racial Justice (SURJ) is working hard to move white people to both WIN the midterm elections by big margins and then to ENFORCE the election results.
In order to enforce our wins after the midterms, we will have to engage in direct action noncooperation by disrupting business as usual and refusing to cooperate with MAGA’s attempts to steal our votes.
In these direct action noncooperation trainings we will learn:
- About direct action noncooperation: what it is, why we use it and it’s historical uses
- SURJ’s strategy to beat MAGA in the midterms and how noncooperation fits in
- Action design, roles, safety planning, and action execution
- Messaging, visuals, and setting the tone for your action
- How to invite new people into your local work after your action is over
- What actions we are moving members to take to enforce the midterm elections, and how we will support you to do so
